One-step and two-step RT-qPCR kits and reverse transcriptases for gene expression
Get faster, simpler gene expression results with an RT-qPCR workflow that matches how you work. You can run the reaction in two steps, with separate cDNA synthesis then qPCR, or combine reverse transcription and amplification in a single tube. One-step RT-qPCR kits reduce handling and lower contamination risk. They are the faster choice for high-throughput gene expression screens. Two-step workflows give you more flexibility when you query the same cDNA with many primer pairs.
One-step kits are available in both probe-based and SYBR Green formats, with ROX variants matched to your instrument. Probe-based one-step kits use a hydrolysis probe for target-specific signal. SYBR Green one-step kits are a lower-cost option for single-target or validated assays. Multiple ROX levels are available across both chemistries.
For two-step workflows, cDNA synthesis kits support random hexamer, oligo-dT, and gene-specific priming from total RNA or poly-A RNA inputs. Dedicated miRNA cDNA synthesis kits use stem-loop reverse transcription to quantify mature miRNA sequences accurately. All-in-one reverse transcriptase master mixes simplify your setup step. For your low-input or single-cell applications, high-sensitivity reverse transcriptase formulations improve cDNA yield from limiting RNA amounts. Pairing cDNA synthesis with an RNase inhibitor protects your RNA integrity during the conversion step.
One-step or two-step, probe or dye, miRNA or mRNA
1) Fast high-throughput mRNA quantification. A one-step kit suits this need. Probe-based one-step formats are available in variants with or without ROX passive reference dye, so you can match the formulation to your instrument's normalisation requirements. Dye-based one-step formats likewise come as No-ROX, Lo-ROX, or Hi-ROX variants, depending on the instrument you use.
2) Multi-target cDNA reuse. Synthesise cDNA first with a two-step cDNA synthesis kit. Then run multiple qPCR assays from one cDNA pool. This is more economical when you profile the same RNA sample across ten or more genes.
3) miRNA targets. A stem-loop cDNA synthesis kit designed for mature miRNA quantification suits this target, paired with miRNA-specific primer sets. Combined cell-to-Ct workflows can take you from cells to Ct values within a single working day.

5) Low-input or single-cell RNA. High-sensitivity reverse transcriptase formulations provide coverage for your limiting RNA amounts. Pairing with an RNase inhibitor during the cDNA synthesis step protects your RNA template.
