qPCR and RT-qPCR master mixes with SYBR or TaqMan-compatible chemistries
Master mixes for quantitative real-time PCR and one- or two-step RT-qPCR. The format includes hot-start polymerase, dNTPs, MgCl2, and either intercalating dye (SYBR Green) or buffer compatible with hydrolysis probes (TaqMan). One-step RT-qPCR adds reverse transcriptase for direct RNA-to-Ct workflows.
Pick chemistry by application.
- Chemistry. SYBR-based for cheaper exploratory work. Probe-based for specificity and multiplex.
- One-step versus two-step. One-step reduces handling and contamination risk. Two-step gives flexibility for multiple targets from one cDNA stock.
- RT enzyme performance. Sensitivity, fidelity, and 3'-to-5' processivity matter for short or scarce templates.
- Instrument compatibility. ROX reference dye level matters for some instruments; check before ordering.
- Inhibitor tolerance. For difficult sample types (blood, FFPE) choose inhibitor-tolerant formulations.
Meridian Life Science leads with SensiFAST and qPCRBio mixes covering both SYBR and probe formats. For multiplex qPCR pick a mix specifically validated for multiplex; some standard mixes lose sensitivity beyond duplex.
