When you need standard agarose for nucleic acid electrophoresis, this section covers multipurpose agaroses, low-melt for gel extraction, high-resolution for small fragment separation, and pulsed-field-grade for very large DNA. Consistency matters for routine quality control.

1. Routine fragments. Standard multipurpose agarose.
2. Small fragments (under 500 bp) or close-size separation. High-resolution agarose.
3. Plasmid backbones and gDNA. Broad-range or pulsed-field-grade.
4. Downstream gel extraction. Low-melt agarose. Easier to recover DNA.
5. Cost. Match grade to need; specialty agaroses are pricier but warranted for specific use cases.
