Nucleotides

dNTPs, NTPs, and modified nucleotides for PCR, reverse transcription, and in vitro transcription

Deoxyribonucleotide and ribonucleotide triphosphates (dNTPs, NTPs) are substrates for PCR, reverse transcription, in vitro transcription, and other enzymatic nucleic acid synthesis. The category includes standard dNTP mixes, individual nucleotides at higher concentration, modified nucleotides (dUTP, biotin-dUTP, fluorescent-dUTP, hot-start dNTPs), and high-purity grades for sensitive applications.

Pick by application and purity.

  1. Composition. Premixed dNTP at fixed ratio for most uses. Individual nucleotides for unequal-ratio applications.
  2. Purity grade. For NGS library prep use ultrapure dNTPs to minimise sequencing error rate. For routine PCR standard grade is fine.
  3. Modifications. dUTP for carryover prevention. Biotin-dUTP for nick translation. Fluorescent-dUTP for in situ labelling. Chain-terminator ddNTPs for Sanger sequencing.
  4. Concentration. 10 mM is standard. 100 mM for high-throughput pipetting where dilution would compound error.
  5. Storage. Verify storage stability and freeze-thaw tolerance for your usage frequency.

Meridian (Bioline) and Meridian Life Science cover the standard catalogue.
