Fluorescent exosome labelling kits for cleaner EV tracking than lipophilic dyes

These kits use vesicle-targeted chemistries rather than generic membrane intercalation, giving you cleaner background from debris and non-vesicular particles when tracking extracellular vesicles in live cells or in vivo. Labels target four distinct compartments so you can match the label to your assay: internal proteins in the blue channel, EV-encapsulated RNA cargo, membrane lipids optimised for nanoparticle tracking analysis, and near-infrared labels for in vivo biodistribution and whole-animal imaging. All kits work on isolated EVs after purification, with standard protocols taking 30 to 60 minutes at room temperature and compatibility with storage or immediate downstream use. They support the fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, NTA and in vivo IVIS imaging you already run.

  1. Quick in vitro uptake. Choose lipid-dye labelling. Remove unincorporated dye thoroughly.
  2. In vivo biodistribution. Choose genetically encoded labels. Lipid dyes leach into cellular membranes and confound interpretation.
  3. Affinity pull-down. Use biotin or click-chemistry handles.
  4. Tag location. Membrane labels report on uptake. Luminal labels report on cargo delivery.
  5. Quantification. Genetically encoded labels give consistent labelling per particle. Lipid dyes vary.
