Obtain ultra-sensitive digital expression profiling data for all 19,000 protein-coding genes in the human genome or some 5000 mouse genes with theDriverMap Targeted RNA Sequencing platform.
Since the DriverMap assay is a targeted RT-PCR approach that generates a single amplicon of approximately 200 bases for each target gene, the library only has about 19,000 sequences. This is very different from RNA-Seq, where you essentially sequence the entire transcriptome. As a result, with the DriverMap assay, you can achieve a very good depth of coverage and more sensitivity than RNA-Seq, with 5-10 fold fewer reads. We typically obtain about 5 million reads per sample.
