MH-S Cells

MH-S cells are a murine alveolar macrophage cell line derived from the lung of a BALB/c mouse following transformation with SV40. These suspension and loosely adherent cells are widely used as an in vitro model for studying macrophage biology, including immune responses, phagocytosis, cytokine production, inflammation, and host–pathogen interactions. MH-S cells retain key functional characteristics of alveolar macrophages, making them suitable for applications in pulmonary research, immunology studies, drug screening, and investigations of respiratory infections and inflammatory lung diseases.
