Additional Information	Human Primary Bronchial Smooth Muscle Cells are isolated from normal bronchi tissue and stain positive for smooth muscle α-actin. They are fundamental in regulating the airway lumen. Under pathological conditions like asthma, the amount of smooth muscle cells in the bronchi walls is increased leading to smooth muscle hypertrophy or hyperplasia. These cells are used in in vitro studies of asthma, COPD, respiratory distress syndrome and other respiratory disease.
