The OD600 program enables precise monitoring of bacterial growth in liquid culture media by measuring the optical density at 600 nm, essential for determining growth stages and optimal harvesting conditions. The McFarland program simplifies the estimation of cell suspension density, aiding in tasks such as antimicrobial susceptibility testing and bacterial inoculum preparation.
