Transcription factor assays for measuring DNA-binding activity in cell extracts

Transcription factor assays measure the DNA-binding activity of specific transcription factors present in nuclear or whole-cell extracts. Many formats use immobilised consensus DNA sequences to capture the transcription factor of interest, followed by detection through colorimetric or other plate-based readouts, offering a non-radioactive alternative to traditional gel-based binding assays. You can use these assays to assess transcription factor activation in response to treatment, compare activity across cell types or conditions, or screen for compounds that modulate transcription factor binding.
