Stable cell lines carry a transgene of interest that has been integrated into the host genome, so the introduced gene is maintained and expressed over many generations without repeated transfection. You can use them for applications that need consistent, long-term expression, such as protein production, functional assays, or pathway studies. Selection markers are typically used during line generation to isolate cells that have successfully incorporated the construct. Because expression is stable across passages, these lines support experiments that run over extended timeframes.
