Pre-filled lysing tube kits matched to Precellys bead-mill homogenisers contain specific bead types (ceramic, steel, glass) optimised for tissue type. Tube formats remove the bead-handling step.

- Sample type. Soft tissue, hard tissue, microbial, plant each have specific bead and tube combinations.
- Tube format. Single-tube versus 24-tube blocks for parallel processing.
- Caveat. Match lysing kit to sample type for optimal homogenisation. Wrong bead chemistry can damage nucleic acid or leave incomplete lysis.
