PhiC31 integrase system for non-viral transgene integration
The PhiC31 Integrase System from System Biosciences (SBI) provides a plasmid-based approach for stable, non-viral integration of a gene of interest into the host cell genome.
The system combines a PhiC31 Integrase Expression Plasmid with an attB-containing PhiC31 Donor Plasmid carrying your gene of interest.
How the PhiC31 Integrase System works
Clone your gene of interest into a PhiC31 Donor Plasmid and co-transfect it with the PhiC31 Integrase Expression Plasmid. Following transfection, PhiC31 integrase is transiently expressed in the cell and mediates recombination between the attB site on the donor plasmid and genomic pseudo-attP sites.
SBI positions the system for non-viral transgene delivery with preferential integration at transcriptionally active genomic sites, controlled copy number and delivery of inserts without a stated size constraint.

Start with the PhiC31 Integrase Expression Plasmid and select a PhiC31 Donor Plasmid that matches your construct. Available donor vectors provide different promoter configurations and selectable or fluorescent markers.
The SBI PhiC31 system offered here is plasmid-based. Purified PhiC31 integrase protein is not supplied as part of this product range.
