Immortalized Primary Cells

Immortalised primary cells for extended culture without loss of function

Immortalised primary cells are derived from primary tissue and modified to bypass normal senescence, allowing them to proliferate indefinitely in culture while retaining many characteristics of the original cell type. You can use them as a sustainable alternative to primary cells for assays that would otherwise be limited by a finite passage number. This makes them well suited to studies where consistent cell behaviour over extended culture periods is required. Immortalisation methods vary and typically involve introduction of genes that override normal cell cycle checkpoints.
