When you need chromatin immunoprecipitation from tissue, large cell numbers, or established workflows, traditional ChIP remains the standard. CUT&RUN and CUT&Tag have displaced it for low-input applications, but ChIP retains its place for high-input and tissue work.

1. Sonication-based. For high-input samples (millions of cells).
2. MNase-based. Sharper fragment-size distribution and lower-input compatibility.
3. Enzymatic. For FFPE tissue.
4. Kit format. Standard ChIP, ChIP-seq library-ready, native versus crosslinked ChIP.
5. Use. For low-input chromatin profiling CUT&RUN now outperforms ChIP. Reserve ChIP for tissue or high-input samples where the workflow is established.
