Founded in Heidelberg in 2000 by scientists with deep roots in the local life-science community, BioCat has grown alongside one of Europe’s leading research environments. From the beginning, our purpose has been clear: to identify promising technologies early and help researchers access the tools, expertise and support they need to succeed.
Our founders combined scientific understanding, commercial experience and close relationships within the research community. They listened carefully to researchers’ challenges, assessed the practical value of emerging technologies, and brought relevant solutions to laboratories across Europe. This scientific, customer-centred approach remains central to BioCat today.
